Founded in 2000, the Study Abroad Foundation is a chartered non-profit organization based in Indiana. It is dedicated to providing high-quality study abroad opportunities to students.
The organization offers a variety of programs, both in the United States and abroad. These programs are designed to help students achieve their higher education goals and learn about different cultures. They are also designed to help students decide what they want to do in the future.
In addition to its study abroad programs, the Foundation also offers internship programs and online programs. The organization believes that interaction with other cultures builds empathy and that studying abroad can prepare students to be successful in the global society.
The Foundation offers short-term programs that are typically faculty-led. The programs vary in length, ranging from a few days to a full summer. Depending on the program, students may study in languages, or they may focus on a particular academic area, such as marketing.
The Foundation also offers a number of scholarships. These include dedicated scholarships for students who are first-generation college students, students with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged students. Students can apply for scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to $2,500 for a semester-long program, and up to $1,500 for a summer program.
Students can also receive a Verto Education Opportunity Grant, which reduces tuition by 72%. The grant is awarded based on the student’s Expected Family Contribution and GPA. Students can also receive the Hiliary Echo Douglas Scholarship, which is awarded in honor of the late study abroad advocate.
