If you are interested in pursuing an education abroad program, there are many scholarships available. However, eligibility and requirements vary depending on the school or organization you are considering. There are also several scholarship resources online. In addition, there are funding opportunities for students to pursue their studies in the U.S., Europe, Japan and elsewhere.

The National Security Education Program (NSEP) offers scholarships for study abroad in areas of critical importance to the U.S. It does not include study in the United States or Western Europe. Students enrolled in this program must agree to return to the United States upon completion of their program.

The US-Japan Bridging Foundation awards scholarships to US undergraduates who wish to study in Japan. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements listed below. These scholarships range from $2,500 to $4,000.

The Institute for International Education (IIE) offers scholarships for students who are enrolled in an accredited institution. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic achievement.

The Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation funds summer scholarships for study abroad. Each year, the foundation awards up to $3,750.

The Fund for Education Abroad (FEC) awards a $5,000 scholarship to an LGBTQ student who plans to study abroad. In addition, the foundation provides matching grants to students who receive Federal Pell Grants.

The Global Access Initiative (GAIN) is an initiative designed to diversify study abroad opportunities by providing overseas experiences for underrepresented fields of study. This is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.
