UGA study abroad scholarships provide financial assistance for students who want to study in foreign countries. Some are awarded based on merit or need, while others support students who have a passion for traveling. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, make sure to review each program and find out which one fits your needs.

The Asia-Georgia Internship Connection offers up to $5,000 to UGA students who participate in an internship in another country. Funding is available for undergraduate students with a business or economics minor. Applicants must have an academic standing of at least 2.5 and must meet specific requirements.

The Honors International Scholarship Program provides 50-60 scholarships to UGA students pursuing second and third year Honors studies. This funding has been used for university-to-university exchanges, research projects, and language institutes. Students who receive this scholarship are required to enroll in at least 10 credit hours per semester.

The History Department Study Abroad Scholarship encourages undergraduate history majors to pursue study abroad. Applications for this scholarship are based on a promise of academic excellence and a personal essay. Depending on the amount of funding available, recipients may have to pay a portion or all of their tuition, as well as airfare and other expenses.

For students with a German or Russian minor, the Kicklighter Travel Grant provides financial assistance for a summer or semester study abroad. Recipients are awarded based on their proficiency in the German or Russian languages and their academic standing.
