Temple University study abroad experiences are invaluable opportunities that help students challenge their way of thinking, build independence and develop universal skills. Temple’s College of Global Studies is a leader in international education and offers semester, academic year, summer and exchange programs to over 35 countries on six continents as well as academic certificates, research opportunities, overseas internships and service learning as well as cohort programs for business majors.
Temple semester and academic year study abroad programs are open to all full-time degree-seeking students. Exchange or External programs may also be an option; these typically suit highly motivated, independent and strong willed individuals best. No language knowledge is necessary, though knowledge is usually recommended.
Students applying to programs must submit an application with supporting documents, meeting all specific requirements set by each program and meeting its deadlines, which often vary based on term (for instance Rome’s architecture program has a fall semester/academic year deadline while Copenhagen DIS and most exchange programs offer spring semester/academic year deadlines).
Once a student has been accepted into their program, they must confirm their participation by clicking the “Commit” button on their Program Home Page and paying their non-refundable deposit. Next step would be following any pre-departure instructions as provided on their Program Home Page – failing which could result in dismissal from the program.
